Finding a Cure for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

A cure for carpal tunnel problems seems to be on the horizon. In recent years alternatives to surgery seem to be coming from all areas. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, or CTS, is a widely problematic issue for many Americans. If you are in an industry where you use your hands on a continual basis, you are at risk. Researchers, doctors and professionals from specialized alternative fields are coming together to work on a cure for CTS. Surgery is now looked upon as a last resort, as it can often damage the carpal tunnel and actually make the problem worse.

CTS, occurs when your carpal tunnel is damaged and rubs upon your meridian nerve. Symptoms of CTS can include numbness in the arm, wrist and fingers, tingling of the fingers after sleeping, swelling in your hand, arms and wrist, pain in your hand, arms and wrist and very often a loss in the grip strength of your hand. There have been many strides in this field of study, and researchers are well on the way to finding a cure for carpal tunnel problems. Specialized wrist bands, arm splints, carpal tunnel gloves, and other treatment options have become available as a direct result of this research.

The carpal tunnel wraps around your wrist protecting tendons, ligaments, nerves and muscles. Even though it is a bone like mass, it can still be damaged by consistent movement. Repetitive, consistent movements can soften this mass. When the carpal tunnel is damaged it will rub against the meridian nerve. The meridian nerve is the information conduit between the hand and the brain. Because of added pressure to the meridian nerve, impulses are interrupted. It is almost like static on a telephone line. This is why it is so important to find a cure for carpal tunnel problems. Minimally invasive cures seem to be a large goal for researchers.

Recent studies have shown the breakdown of your carpal tunnel may be caused by deficiencies in your Vitamin B6 supply. If this proves to be true, a cure for carpal tunnel may be right around the corner. Recently, researchers conducted a controlled experiment giving CTS patients a regimen of Vitamin B6 as well as implementing a rest program for their wrists. The results were most impressive, as over 90% of the patients experienced significant relief. This is major breakthrough in the study for a cure for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

There are other practitioners who are working on a cure for carpal tunnel problems. Acupuncturists and others specializing in acupressure hope that by manipulating the body, the energy or qi (pronounced chee) will yield a fast cure for CTS. There have been advancements that show promising results. Practioners of other therapies such as massage and yoga, believe that exercise may be the cure for carpal tunnel problems.

CTS is a manageable condition, but the best option you have is to educate yourself as much as possible. A preventative solution is always preferred over one that cures an existing condition. If you suffer from CTS, there is reason for great optimism that researchers, scientists, physicians, and practitioners may very well finally find the cure for carpal tunnel syndrome.
